Carla (Kathryn Hahn) and Kiki (Kristen Bell) -who, in turn, has finally had enough with her husband forcing her to deal with everything at home by herself and ordered him to take care of things on his own- rile Amy (Mila Kunis) up, so she can muster the courage to go to the PTA meeting at the school. Once Amy gets there, she goes to the podium and gives a speech in which she inspires all the other moms to work less, think more about themselves and acknowledge that people make mistakes. To her joy -and Gwendolyn’s (Christina Applegate) dismay-, she wins the Presidency. Gwendolyn walks off and Amy later finds her crying in her vehicle; it is here that Gwendolyn finally opens up and admits that her unpleasantness and extreme uptightness stemmed from her failed personal life -her husband was cheating on her and the only thing that gave her a sense of order and control was to be the PTA President-. Amy comforts her.

Some time passes. Amy is now in a relationship with Jessie (Jay Hernandez) and got her job back, after she forced her unappreciative boss Dale (Clark Duke) to stop taking her for granted; her two kids, Jane (Oona Laurence) and Dylan (Emjay Anthony) are more focused and happier; Kiki is now in charge of her house, making her husband do everything like she used to before; Carla is more responsible towards her own son -even if she still makes the occasional comment about “him being a dimwit”-; and many of the other moms, particularly Stacy (Jada Pinkett Smith) and Vicky (Annie Mumolo), look joyful and reinvigorated. The movie ends with Gwendolyn -who seemingly divorced her husband and took everything he had in retaliation- inviting Amy, Carla and Kiki for a day of fun on her private jet.

As the credits roll, we see the cast interviewing their real-life respective mothers.
