Shadow (voiced by Don Ameche), Chance (voiced by Michael J. Fox) & Sassy (voiced by Sally Field) experience a few perilous moments in the wilderness on their journey back home, but they survive it all and arrive in their Oregon hometown. Despite Shadow almost giving up when he falls into a pit near some railway tracks and hurts his leg, they all make it back to their overjoyed owners.
