The Dixie Chicks were banned from country radio, watched their sales plummet amidst a media firestorm, and played concerts in spite of death threats, all because of an unplanned statement made to anti-war crowd overseas.

Three years later they come back with an unrepentant CD, “Not Ready to Make Nice”, focusing their music in a new direction with a new sound.  Their album sells well, though not quite as well as before, despite the unspoken boycott still continuing in the South.
