Kate Loyd (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) is the only survivor. We see her alone in the tracked snow vehicle near the crashed alien spacecraft at the end of the movie. Her ultimate fate is unknown.
Over the end credits we see several scenes that tie this film together with John Carpenter’s 1981 remake.
