Chicago doctor Paul Kersey (Bruce Willis) becomes a vigilante when his wife Lucy (Elisabeth Shue) is murdered by three thugs that broke into his house, and who also left their daughter Jordan (Camila Morrone) in a coma.

Paul gets a gun and goes around killing crooks in the streets, earning him the nickname, “The Grim Reaper”. This leads to at least one other man trying to become a vigilante too, but he gets killed.

Paul eventually finds the criminals responsible for his wife’s death, and he kills two of them, but the leader, Knox (Beau Knapp), returns to the house to kill Paul and Jordan, but Paul manages to kill Knox first.
