The Beast-Men revolt, and kill Moreau (Burt Lancaster). While they are distracted with destroying the plantation, Braddock (Michael York) and Maria (Barbara Carrera) escape the island in a lifeboat. After an indeterminate time at sea, Braddock awakes one morning, and realizes that he has reverted to being completely human again. Before he can share his joy with Maria, he notices a ship in the distance, and begins hailing it. The camera pans over to Maria, who is beginning to look distinctly feline, and the credits roll.
