Heather (Kim Basinger) falls to her death at the lighthouse, having tried to kill Isaac (Richard Gere) in an effort to frame him for the murder.

Heather’s unstable sister Diana (Uma Thurman) is found not guilty for her accomplice role. 

In the last scene we see Diana in a bar, apparently intending to copy her sister’s act of alcohol-induced “insanity”
