Buddy ‘Aces’ Israel (Jeremy Piven) is actually Primo Sparazza’s son.  Primo orders the hit on Israel because he needs his son’s heart in order to stay alive.

Meanwhile, Agent Carruthers (Ray Liotta) goes to the hotel where he is mortally wounded by another hitman, Pasquale Acosta.  In the ensuing shootout between Carruthers and Acosta both men are mortally wounded in an elevator.

Meanwhile, Agent Messner (Ryan Reynolds) investigates the murder of bail bondsmen Jack Dupree (Ben Affleck) and “Pistol” Pete Deeks (Peter Berg) by the neo-nazi Tremor Brothers.  The third member of their party, Hollis Elmore (Martin Henderson) has his fingers blown off, but survives under the care of an old woman and her ADD grandson.

Meanwhile, assassin Georgia Sykes (Alicia Keys) is attempting to infiltrate Israel’s penthouse when she finds Carruthers and Acosta.

Meanwhile, Lazlo Soot (Tommy Flanagan) has infiltrated Israel’s penthouse disguised as his manservent. Lazlo murders one of Israel’s bodybuards and Sir Ivy (Common) is blamed.

All hell breaks loose as Agent Messner and his agents open fire on Georgia several floors below where the Tremor Borthers attack the penthouse kamikaze style with Ivy and Lazlo still on the floor.  Two Tremor brothers are killed in the shootout, one is shot and the other falls on his chainsaw.  The third, Darwin (Chris Pine) gets away dressed as an FBI agent.  During this, Sharice (Taraji P. Henson), has been shooting Messner’s agents from an opposite hotel room in order to save Georgia.

Carruthers dies, Lazlo gets away as the original hitman The Swede, gets Israel transported to a hospital.

Georgia is shot, but meets Ivy, who carries her to safety.  Sharice sees this, but it is too late as she is gunned down by police.

Darwin is killed in a parking lot by an angry Hollis.

In the twist ending, it turns out that Primo was an FBI agent who went rouge after having radical cosmetic surgery to alter his appearance.  The FBI wants him to have Israel’s heart so that he can inform on the mob.  The Swede is actually a heart surgeon from Stockholm. Messner, angered by his friend’s death and the FBI’s corruption, locks himself in the hospital room with Primo and Israel where he puts his badge and gun on the floor before pulling the plug on both men.  Thereby ruining the FBI’s plan to take down the mob.  He cries as the movie fades to black.

Matthew Fox from Lost has a cameo where he sports a mullet and Jason Bateman wears a thong.
