Bogus(1996)

Bogus (Gerard Depardieu) helps Albert (Haley Joel Osment) come to terms with his mother’s death and his new situation, and he eventually appears before Harriet (Whoopi Goldberg) and helps her rediscover her imagination and come to terms with her new situation as Albert’s foster parent, and through those acts he helps them understand how much they mean to, and truly need, each other.

After seeing them pay their respects to Albert’s mother at her grave and watching them have fun together afterwards, Bogus leaves their lives, waiting for the next person who will need him to help them through their troubles.
