Impetigore(2019)

Maya aka Rahayu (Tara Basro) was the product of an affair between her mother Shanti and Saptadi (Ario Bayu). His mother, Minsi (Christine Hakim) did not approve and bewitched her son to forget Shanti and cursed the child, Maya, to be born skinless. Her legal father, Donowongso, unaware of the affair, desperately kidnapped and murdered three children to heal her, which caused the village curse of every child being born skinless. Wanting to cover her tracks for her part of the village misery, Minsi manipulated her son to kill Donowongso, Shanti and several others and framing Donowongso for the crimes and telling the others that only through Rahayu’s death will the curse be broken.

Maya, learning the truth from the ghosts of the three children, is able to put their spirits to rest, and end the curse. However, she is captured soon after. After telling Saptadi of her true parentage, Minsi tries to kill her, but a guilt ridden Saptadi takes the knife and cuts his own throat instead. An emotionally destroyed Minsi kills herself right after. As a new child is born healthy, Maya is released and told to flee. Maya leaves the village forever.

A year later, the village begins to have children again. A young pregnant woman is with her husband when she has a violent miscarriage. As she looks into a mirror, she sees the ghost of Minsi, eating her child and screams.
