Charlotte (Charlize Theron) finds herself stonewalled by both President Chambers (Bob Odenkirk) and sleazy media mogul Parker Wembley (Andy Serkis) regarding her Tree Preservation Plan. Particularly Wembley blackmails her with letting go of the trees in exchange for him not making public a fairly nasty video of Fred (Seth Rogen) jerking off -and ejaculating over himself- to one of Charlotte’s speeches. With no other choice, Charlotte takes the deal and tells Fred about it, also promising to go public about them once he changes his image, which he refuses to and gets angry about because of what he perceives as her succumbing to the same pattern of turning on promises, like every other politician. They end their relationship.

Later, Charlotte formally announces her intention of stepping down as Secretary Of State to run for the Presidency. But, while doing this, she has an epiphany about the ideals she always held high -and what had attracted Fred to her, ever since they were kids-, calls out Chambers for caving to Wembley’s petty ploys and discloses the details of the video, so that it won’t be a surprise to anyone when it goes viral.

Fred, who is watching the speech with Lance (O’Shea Jackson Jr.), gets emboldened to go after Charlotte, but misses her. However, when he returns to his apartment, she is waiting for him there; they finally admit their feelings for each other and make their relationship official to a crew of reporters outside, with full public support. Charlotte goes on to become the first female President Of The United States, married to Fred, who becomes her “First Mister”.
