Pooper:
Mr. Lockwood runs an app where viewers livestream the footage of four killers murdering the guests at the hotel and place bets on the outcome. Taylor (who accidentally kills her dad) and Kevin are the only survivors of the night. During the credits, we learn that the app is run by a much bigger organization that stages multiple events like this throughout the US.

Long Ending:
Elaine (Danielle Harris) and Roy (Charles Edwin Powell) are parents to a rebellious teenage daughter, Taylor (Sydney Malakeh), and a young, video game-addicted son, Kevin (Wesley Holloway). In an effort at family bonding, they decide to take their kids to a resort called the Pines Hotel that they had a great time visiting when Taylor was a child. Although Kevin is excited and agrees to ditch his video games during the vacation, Taylor is stand-offish and doesn’t want to go. When the family arrives, they are told by the hotel’s proprietor Mr. Lockwood (Jeffrey Combs) that the hotel is undergoing renovations and does not have internet access. After her family falls to sleep, Taylor sneaks out of her room and rendezvous with two French hotel guests that she’d met earlier that day. She and one of the Frenchmen make out, and then the pair leave the hotel to attend a concert.

Unbeknownst to the guests and much of the hotel staff, Mr. Lockwood is not who he seems. He’s built himself a computerized command center, paid a workman to install cameras throughout the hotel, and installed cell phone jammers that block reception. As night falls, four masked individuals (simply named Player 1 (Jason Leavy), Player 2 (David Howard Thornton), 2’s sister Player 3 (Liana Pirraglia), and Player 4 (Mark Haynes) are allowed to enter. Lockwood then uses electronic locks to lock all the guests inside the hotel. The Players start stalking and killing hotel guests and staff as Lockwood uses the cameras to livestream the events. It is revealed that Lockwood streams the carnage on an app where people place bets on which killer will score the most kills, which guests/staff will last the longest, etc. Player 1 slaughters Elaine in her hotel room while Roy and Kevin look for Taylor throughout the hotel. Lockwood himself is a murderer, killing a staff member he’d knocked out earlier in the day just for fun.

As more guests have run-ins with the Players, Lockwood eventually makes an announcement over the hotel loudspeakers explaining what’s going on and telling them they will all soon die. Roy befriends another hotel guest and former LAPD officer named Hart (Terry Alexander). Although most guests and staff are quickly slaughtered, Hart shoots Player 4 to death while another guest manages to kill Player 3 (before she is killed by Lockwood). Kevin becomes separated from the others and Hart betrays Roy by letting him be attacked by Player 1. Hart reveals that he knows about the app, and he placed a big bet on all of Roy’s family being killed off last. Hart then came to the hotel to make sure it happened. An incensed Lockwood ends up killing Hart. As that transpires, Roy actually manages to overcome and kill Player 1, and he gets into Player 1’s outfit so that he can search for Kevin undercover. Meanwhile, Taylor and the Frenchman return to the hotel. They are immediately attacked and seemingly killed by Player 2, but it turns out that Taylor was only knocked unconscious.

Eventually, Lockwood figures out that Player 1 must be Roy, and he orders Player 2 to kill him. However, Kevin and Roy manage to overcome and kill Player 2 instead. They are then attacked by Lockwood himself but manage to knock him out. As father and son embrace, Roy is fatally stabbed by a recovered Taylor who mistook her father for one of the killers (since he was dressed in Player 1’s mask and outfit). The children weep and embrace their father as he dies. Lockwood then recovers and attacks them, but Taylor manages to decapitate him with an axe. They then contact the police, who arrive and rescue the kids. One of the paramedics brings them drinks and then walks away suspiciously happy. The film ends as the paramedic checks his phone to reveal the source of his happiness – he is a user of Lockwood’s app and just won big by betting that Kevin and Taylor would survive the night.

During the credits, we see another man calling himself Mr. Lockwood (Tony Todd) preparing a similar attack as happened at the hotel. It turns out that the app is run by a much larger group and that there are many “Lockwoods” perpetrating similar schemes throughout the US. Another post-credit scene shows a Lockwood who proclaims himself the true ringleader (Tim Curry). He sics his murderers (cameo by Bill Moseley) on the patrons and staff of a movie theater. The ringleader says there will be many more such “games” as app users throughout the US are shown glued to their phones and computers so that they can watch (and bet on) the carnage.

Order of Deaths:

• 1) Linda (Dee Wallace) – The real proprietor of the Pines Hotel. She is abducted, and then Lockwood kills her with a drill to the head.
• 2) Hotel patron – While going to her car, she sees Player 2 tying a noose and approaching her. She runs to her car but is attacked by Player 3, who kills her offscreen.
• 3) Bartender – Attacked from behind by the massive Player 4 while playing an arcade game. Player 4 smashes his head against the arcade (with the bartender’s eye getting popped out by the joystick), cuts off his nose, and then smashes in his skull.
• 4) Honeymoon suite couple – Attacked by Players 2 and 3 while having sex in a hot tub. Player 2 drowns the man. The woman almost escapes but is stabbed in the ankle with a corkscrew as she tries to run away. Then Player 2 finishes her off offscreen.
• 5) Elaine – Player 1 sneaks into her room and tries to strangle her. She stabs him with a pen and tries to run, but Player 1 throws a knife into Elaine’s back. He then uses a thick strand of barbed wire to garrote her.
• 6) Janitor Ozzie (Mark Holton) – After being knocked out while looking for Linda, he awakens tied to a chair in Mr. Lockwood’s command center. For fun, Lockwood stabs Ozzie in the chest, throat, and then ear. Lockwood streams the murder for the app users.
• 7) Various hotel guests (including Felissa Rose) – Various guests meet up in a courtyard to try and figure out what’s going on. Lockwood reveals what he’s doing over a loudspeaker and then temporarily cuts the power. When the lights return back on, various guests have been beaten, impaled, crushed, and otherwise killed by Players 1 and 4.
• 8) Louis – One of the Frenchmen, he goes to a vending machine and is attacked by Player 4. The big man smashes Louis through the glass of the vending machine before killing Louis by crushing him with the vending machine.
• 9) Blonde-haired Guest – She and her friends (the Male Guest and the Brunette-haired Guest) are attacked by Players 2 and 3. As the Blonde tries to run, Player 3 stabs her in the stomach. She is later found dead with a knife lodged in her skull and been given a Glasgow Smile. She and the Male Guest’s corpses are posed having a tea party together.
• 10) Male Guest – Player 3 nails his hands to a door and Player 2 uses two claw blades (similar to the blades a Predator uses) to carve a Tic-Tac-Toe board into his torso. Players 2 and 3 then play Tic-Tac-Toe (carving Xs and Os into the guest’s torso). After Player 3 makes a match, he cuts a large wound into the Male Guest’s stomach, causing him to die.
• 11) Player 3 – She stalks the Brunette-haired Guest into the basement and eventually beats her up and starts strangling her. The Brunette-haired Guest manages to grab a nearby fork and stab it into Player 3’s neck.
• 12) Brunette-haired Guest – After defeating Player 3, she finds a small, unlocked window and manages to crawl through it (narrowly avoiding being caught by Player 2). As she catches her breath outside the hotel, a man in a plague mask (later revealed to by Mr. Lockhart) appears and kills her with a shovel to the head.
• 13) Player 4 – He attacks Hart and Roy as they look for Kevin (who got separated from them). Player 4 beats them both up, but before he can kill Roy, Hart manages to shoot him to death with his gun.
• 14) Theo – The other Frenchman, he returns with Taylor to the hotel after they initially snuck out before the murders to attend a concert. Not knowing what’s happening, they are quickly ambushed by Player 2. The murderer impales Theo with a spear and then drives the tip through Theo’s back into Taylor’s gut. Theo dies but Taylor survives (though is knocked unconscious).
• 15) Player 1 – He attacks Roy and the two get into a fight. Their fight happens in one area of a building without video cameras. Roy kills Player 1 offscreen, then steals Player 1’s mask and outfit so that he can continue searching for Kevin unimpeded.
• 16) Detective Hart – It’s revealed he was there to make sure his bet (that Roy’s family would be the last ones killed) manifests. He goes to the Command Center to collect his winnings. He is ambushed by Mr. Lockhart, who stabs him and then uses a drill to the head to kill Hart.
• 17) Player 2 – As he strangles Roy, Kevin stabs the murderer in the leg. This lets Roy get the upper hand and he is able to pin Player 2 onto an oven. Kevin turns the oven on and Player 2 burns to death.
• 18) Roy – Having beaten everyone (and knocked Mr. Lockhart unconscious), Roy embraces Kevin. He is then fatally stabbed by Taylor, who mistook him for one of the killers (as he was dressed in Player 1’s outfit and mask). He tells his kids he loves them both and not to blame themselves as he dies.
• 19) Mr. Lockhart – He’s beaten unconscious by Roy. He eventually recovers and tries to kill Taylor. With Kevin’s help, she gets the upper hand and decapitates him with an axe.
• 20) Theater patrons/workers – As the Ringleader and his murderers attack a theater, the patrons/workers are killed via a hook to the neck, a machete to the neck, a baseball bat to the head, and electrocution.
