John (Judd Nelson) and Claire (Molly Ringwald) wind up together, as do Andrew (Emilio Estevez) and Allison (Ally Sheedy).  Brian (Anthony Michael Hall) write one essay from all of them to the Principal (Paul Gleason) telling him where to stick it. All leave for the day a little more open-minded about their pre-conceptions. (Claire gives John one of her diamond earrings, and Andrew gives Allison his letterman’s patch, so I think the implication is that, come Monday, they will not once again be strangers as predicted by Claire earlier in the movie.)
