Determined to get Ovi (Rudhraksh Jaiswal) to safety and, after the boy had to kill Gaspar (David Harbour) because he was going to betray them to collect a ransom, Tyler (Chris Hemsworth) realizes he might not make it on his own, let alone complete the mission. He reluctantly partners up with Saju (Randeep Hooda) -who has also been trying to rescue Ovi himself, as well-, so they can all get together to the extraction point where Ovi could be securely taken away.

After a relentless persecution by the police force -under orders of crime lord Amir (Priyanshu Painyuli), who intends to recapture Ovi- and, while trying to escape Dhaka -on lockdown, also by order of Amir-, Tyler, Saju and Ovi make it to the other side of the bridge. However, Saju is killed by corrupt Colonel Singh (Shataf Figar), who, in turn, is killed by Tyler’s fellow female mercenary, Nik (Golshifteh Farahani). When Tyler almost gets to the helicopter, he is badly wounded by Farhad (Suraj Rikame), a teen henchman of Amir’s that Tyler fended off earlier. The extraction team take off with Ovi and escape to India; Tyler, while having visions of his dead child, staggers towards the side of the bridge and falls into the river, with Farhad coming behind to see if he had succeeded in killing him; and Amir observes the whole scene from afar, disappointed.

Eight months later, Ovi is seen back in his lonely life in India, but visibly transformed from his ordeal. Scenes of him getting ready to jump into a pool are juxtaposed with Amir getting cornered and killed by Nik in the restroom of a restaurant. In an evident nod to a quote Ovi referred to Tyler before (“You drown not by falling into the river, but by staying submerged in it”), Ovi is seen dropping to the bottom of the pool, staying under for a bit and, then, boldly, swimming back to the surface. As he does, a white man is seen by the pool, watching him; it’s left to speculation whether it could be Tyler.
