POOPER:
Ringo Starr receives a sacred ring from an Eastern cult, making him a target for sacrifice. He and his Beatles bandmates are relentlessly pursued by the cult’s high priest, Clang, who wants the ring back. Their attempts to remove the cursed ring are complicated by a mad scientist who also wants it for its explosive power. After a global chase from London to the Alps and the Bahamas, the ring is ultimately removed by a vacuum cleaner, neutralizing its threat. The pursuing factions are arrested, and The Beatles return to their normal lives free from danger.

LONG VERSION:
In London, Ringo Starr (Ringo Starr) receives a ceremonial ring in the mail from an admirer. As the opening credits roll, the song “Help!” is performed. Unbeknownst to him, the ring is sacred to an Eastern cult. The high priest, Clang (Leo McKern), and his followers, including Ahme (Eleanor Bron), pursue Ringo to retrieve it for a sacrifice. The cult attempts to capture Ringo at his home, but he escapes with his bandmates John Lennon (John Lennon), Paul McCartney (Paul McCartney), and George Harrison (George Harrison).

The Beatles learn the ring is cursed. They seek help from Scotland Yard, where Superintendent Gluck (Patrick Cargill) assigns Sergeant Foot (Roy Kinnear) to protect them. The cult’s attempts to obtain the ring become increasingly elaborate. The band flees to the Austrian Alps. At a ski resort, they perform “The Night Before”. Later, in their shared house, John sings “You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away”. The cult follows them to the Alps, leading to a chase on the slopes. During this sequence, George sings “I Need You”.

The group is then pursued by a second faction, a mad scientist also named Foot (Victor Spinetti) who wants the ring for its power. This creates a three-way chase. The action moves to the Bahamas. On a beach, Paul sings “Another Girl”. In a sequence inside a Bahamian club, John sings “You’re Going to Lose That Girl”. Earlier, during the travel sequence to the Alps, the song “Ticket to Ride” is played. While in the Bahamas, the song “It’s Only Love” is heard as background music.

After several close calls, including a scene where Ringo is nearly sacrificed, the group is captured by the scientists. They are taken to a beach where the scientists plan to fire a laser. Ahme, who now helps the band, creates a diversion. In the scientist’s laboratory, the song “I’ve Just Seen a Face” is playing on a recorder. Paul later sings “Tell Me What You See” in the lab. George’s song “You Like Me Too Much” is also featured as background music during the film.

In the ensuing chaos, the Beatles escape. Ringo’s ring is finally removed when it is sucked off his finger by a vacuum cleaner inside the scientist’s underwater laboratory. The explosion is averted. With the threat eliminated, the cult and the scientists are arrested. The film concludes with the Beatles performing on a concert stage, singing “Dizzy Miss Lizzy”.

The song “Yesterday” is performed by Paul earlier in the film as background music during a restaurant scene.
