Marvin’s Room(1996)

Bessie’s (Diane Keaton) leukemia progresses and deteriorates her health. Unfortunately, also, her hopes for a bone marrow transplant are crushed, as neither her sister Lee (Meryl Streep) nor Lee’s two sons Hank (Leonardo Di Caprio) and Charlie (Hal Scardino) are a match, so she acknowledges the chance of eventually dying and leaving her bedridden father Marvin (Hume Cronyn) alone in the world. However, the estranged family slowly reconnects and reconciles, and Lee embraces taking over Bessie’s role with Marvin. In the end, they are all seen living together and supporting each other in the family home.
