The Night(2020)

The hotel that has trapped married couple Babak (Shahab Hosseni) and Neda (Niousha Noor) is wanting them to confess a secret they are keeping from the other. Neda tells Babak she had an abortion five years before when he was out of contact, fearing of raising a child without its father. With her sin revealed, the hotel’s power comes back on. Yet, they still cannot get the doors opened. Neda realizes that Babak has a secret, but he refuses to tell her.

Babak apparently had an affair and lied to the woman about leaving Neda (and she had apparently committed suicide). Babak continues to hallucinate and in the process, seemingly stabs Neda.

Babak then startles himself awake back in the hotel room, everything seemingly a bad dream. While his wife and infant daughter peacefully sleep, Babak washes his face only to see his mirror reflection moving by itself, terrifying him. Having not confessed, Babak is still trapped in the hotel (as is his family). However, while his family is at peace, he is not and will continue to be endlessly haunted until he is willing to come clean about his own betrayal.
