Excellent adaptation of the John le Carre’ novel.

Bill Haydon – “Tailor” (Colin Firth) is the traitor.

Jim Prideaux (Mark Strong) kills Haydon with a rifle shot from the woods while Haydon is walking in the outdoor patio area of the prison where he is confined.

Percy Alleline (Toby Jones) is fired from his position as “Control”, and George Smiley (Gary Oldman) is reinstated as “Control”.

Ricky Tarr (Tom Hardy) winds up alone. Smiley lied to Tarr, promising to try to get Irinia (Svetlana Khodchenkova) out of prison, fully knowing that she was already dead, in order to get Tarr to participate in the sting operation to trap Haydon.

George and Ann (Katrina Vasilieva) reconcile.
