Peter Berton was the son of Crazy Mary and Sam Ronson’s Brother. (The man died in a barroom brawl, leaving Mary, aka Eleanor Morgan, to her own devices. She gave birth, impoverished, in a county hospital and gave Peter to the Boston Children’s Home.)

Doctor Bruce Clayworth is the murderer and the mastermind behind the stolen plans.
