The Groundstar Conspiracy(1972)

After the conspirators behind the attempted theft of rocket booster technology are finally flushed out, Tuxan (George Peppard) confronts Welles (Michael Sarrazin) at the ‘medical’ facility and explains that Welles’ real name is Peter Bellamy, a recently widowed government employee. After his wife and child were killed in an accident, a distraught and destroyed Bellamy volunteered to have his memory wiped clean and implanted with the Welles ‘legend’ in order to entice the real culprits into the open. Tuxan agrees to free Welles and simply walks away.
