Bette Davis character (Fanny), aged, disfigured from diphtheria, and jaded from a series of love affairs, allows her divorced husband, Claude Rains (Job) to come visit her. She asks him in, after discovering that he is blind and only remembers her as the beautiful young woman he was married to years ago.
