The imposter Chavel (Derek Jacobi) thinks he has sent Chavel off, and will gain his property as well as Therese (Kristin Scott Thomas). The real Chavel (Anthony Hopkins) confronts him in the hall with Therese but is shot by the imposter. The imposter runs off and is captured by the resistance. Chavel dies in Therese’s arms, telling her all.
