Kraven the Hunter(2024)

As a teenager, Sergei Kravinoff was bitten by a lion and later obtained superhuman abilities after he was revived by a young voodoo priestess’s granddaughter, Calypso (Ariana DeBose). In the present, Sergei (Aaron Taylor-Johnson)has become “Kraven The Hunter”, who goes after criminals and men who hunt for sport. He has become estranged from his brother, Dmitri (Fred Hechinger), who was left with their cruel father Nikolai (Russell Crowe), another game hunter, after their mother committed suicide.

Dmitri is kidnapped by Aleksei Sytsevich (Alessandro Nivola), a mercenary with a grudge against Nikolai who is trying to swoop in on his criminal empire. Kraven teams up with Calypso to find his brother, while Aleksei hires a time-stopping assassin called “The Foreigner” to deal with Kraven.

Once Kraven tracks them down, The Foreigner attempts to use a toxin to neutralize Kraven before killing him, but Calypso kills The Foreigner with an arrow through the eye before reviving Kraven. He goes after Aleksei, who utilizes his mutation to turn himself into The Rhino to attack Kraven. They get into a fight, but Kraven defeats Rhino by penetrating the wound where he takes the serum that holds the mutation back, and then causing him to get trampled to death by wildebeest.

Kraven confronts Nikolai since he sent video footage of Kraven escaping prison and finding out his connection to Nikolai. This was a ploy on Nikolai’s part to bait Kraven into killing Aleksei. Because this resulted in his brother’s kidnapping, Kraven quietly removes the bullets from Nikolai’s rifles and leaves him to get mauled by a bear. When Kraven tries to reunite with Dmitri, he instead goes on to become the shapeshifter known as “The Chameleon” after meeting a doctor who treated Aleksei’s condition.

Kraven accepts that he has become like his father, a ruthless hunter.
