As Father Jonas (James Carver) sets the woodshed at the back of the house on fire to kill sole survivor Meagan (Nicole de Boer), she whacks him several times with a shovel that caught fire, which eventually sets him completely ablaze. She then locks him in the shed, which soon blows up due to the oil he spread around in there.

The next morning, the police and a couple of ambulances arrive, and Meagan is taken in one to the hospital. The badly burnt body of Father Jonas is also put in an ambulance, where eventually his eyes whip open, indicating that he was still alive. Meagan also frightfully opens her eyes at the same time, having gotten the vibe that Father Jonas survived.
