Nick is able to get Annie to hear him and convince her to tell the cops where his body is (she was the one who killed him). Annie makes it to the hospital where Nick was taken to after the cops have chased her.  She was shot by Marcus but lives for several hours until she is able to revive Nick and gives her life for him.  The last scene is of her younger brother Victor flying a model airplane when Nick comes up to him.  He writes a message on the plane that says HEY ANNIE and is from Victor.
