Ivy (Joan Fontaine) kills her husband with poison so she can marry Herbert Marshall. She hides what’s left of the poison in an old clock.
Later, she rings for the elevator but forgets to get the poison. When she returns, she walks in the shaft thinking the elevator was there and falls to her death!
