Howard (Adam Sandler) manages to sell the black opal to Kevin Garnett for $165,000 just as his brother-in-law Arno (Eric Bogosian) and his thugs come to collect their money. Howard gives the money to his mistress Julia (Julia Fox) with instructions to bet it all on that evening’s Celtics game, and traps Arno and his goons behind the security door of his jewelry store.

Julia places the bet, and Kevin Garnett leads the Celtics to victory. Howard, ecstatic that he is now a millionaire, lets out Arno. The main thug, Phil, shoots Howard in the face, and then shoots Arno. Phil and the other thug rob the jewelry store while Julia rides away in a limousine with the money.
